Report: €15m transfer ‘gone under the radar’ as Fiorentina accelerate talks with Milan

By Isak Möller -

Fiorentina have set their sights on Yacine Adli for the midfield and are now ready to accelerate the negotiations with AC Milan, a report claims. It seems the Rossoneri could bank a decent amount from the Frenchman’s departure as well.

Adli has been on the transfer list since the start of the summer and following the signings made this summer, there is no space for him on the squad list. As such, a move is a must for him to get playing and after being resulctant initially, the player now seems willing to leave.

According to FirenzeViola, Fiorentina are very interested in the player and it’s a negotiation that has ‘gone under the radar’. Now, with Nico Gonzalez’s move to Juventus completed, La Viola have the funds to strengthen their midfield which is considered a priority.

Milan have told Fiorentina that they want to sell Adli on a permanent basis for a fee of €15m. It’s possible, however, that an agreement could be reached for a loan with an obligation to buy as the report concludes.

As long as it’s not an option to buy, and the fee remains in the region of €15m, most fans will probably be happy with the deal.

      1. We don’t? What is exactly what Musah & RLC are contributing to Milan’s play? I mean in a positive way because all they did yesterday was pass the ball to Parma-players and lose the ball easily.

Since when have vision and passing become overrated? Did you enjoy Leao’s vision in the winning goal? Or the pass? Did you enjoy Musah’s countless missplaced passes?

        1. Im not saying Musah and Ruben are contributing. I am saying we dont need players with vision and passing in the midfield. What we need are brawlers.
We have plenty of vision and passing on the wings (as you pointed out). Whats the point in having more of that in the middle? Who’s gonna do the dirty work if all we have are passers?

          1. We don’t want (more) one-trick ponies. Our left-side doesn’t defend. Our midfield cannot defend. Our RBs cannot cross or help out offense.

The best midfielders are the ones who can defend and have creativity. Gattuso-type “I’m only here to defend” does take you far. We need more people like Fofana who really does it all. But if we were to select a few one-trick ponies, I’d rather pick the ones with creativity, vision and passing skills. Defending can be taught. Flair and creativity cannot.

          2. you’re here telling me how left side doesnt defend, how mids dont defend then you say you’d rather have a creative midfielder than a gattuso type in this team.. Go figure..
We need 2 DM asap. Creativity means jack sh*t when you’re leaking 2 goals each game

          3. Yes. Because the coach can make those guys defend as a team but at the end of the day we’d still be lacking in the creativity and passing department.

It’s easier to teach/make people defend than make them creative.

          4. I can’t believe someone is writing dis… It’s either u are joking or ignorant…. Modern football is about vision and passing… Dunno how dis clown manager will keep playing RLC and Musah and reject Adli, it’s an anomaly dat only Milan permits

          5. Fofana a good DM. That hilarious.
We aren’t lacking creativity or passing. Idk what you people are on. And what you’re watching. It definitely isn’t Ac Milan games. And if defending can be though, how come these guy who been playing for years ,even a decade are shît at it? We’re they never taught?
Should we waste 2 years trying to teach them the art of defensive work?
Because Adli spend a year trying to learn it and his still shît at it.

          6. Modern football is about running and kicking the ball. Vision and passing, the mastermoves we were watching for the last 15 years are a dying phenomenon.
Kroos, one of the last players with those characteristics has just retired. Most of the guys who are rally good at vision and passing are in their 30s.

  1. So can we get a proper DM then and although this coach never before has, try and play 433? This team is not built for 4231 and we’ll suffer as long as they stick to it. If no DM comes then best case scenario with this crop of players is 343.

    But just stop with 4231.

    1. There is nothing wrong with 4231. Just need to reduce the license of the 2 pushing too high and your full backs overlapping at the same time. When we have the ball, both are almost inside opponents 18yard box. That leaves a lot of room to exploit

      1. there is nothing wrong with 4231 indeed. But we started playing 4231 because the characteristics of the mids we had at the time were good for 4231. Now in 2024 and even since 2022 we dont have characteristics for the 4231. We would need to buy 3 mids and a starting AM for 4231 to work again and ofc offload all mids but Fofana and Musah

    2. Playing 3 man midfield wont be a bad idea it had always been out tradition with Ancelotti and I wonder why this management neve consider him and even him coming back to his beloved Milan.

Ancelotti Milan need you more now than ever.

      1. They maybe consider HIM, but he has big price, somewhere around 10m€ what is more then our players… And he is happy with Real, yes he is milanista, but with Real he can win every year something, in Milan it is hard task

    3. Agree. We don’t have the personnel to play the 4-2-3-1. No double pivots save for Fofana and with the impending sale of Benny – he’s it. Seems like we don’t have a pure CAM either – even tho Adli should be tried there (his natural position) but he’s out of the team. So the best move with the players we have is a 4-3-3.

Excellent roster construction by Georgie, Moncada and Ibra…😂

  2. I would actually keep him and sell some of the other players. Maybe he isn’t good in certain aspects of the game, but at least you can count on him to give his all when he is on the pitch.

  3. This guy will be one of the best midfielders in the world in the future. Milan will not know his value just the way we did fo Locatelli. Musah, Chukweze, Even our captain should go.

  4. It’s so painful that Adli did not play during the 80s, 90s Era. He would have found a sure footing in those Milan sides.

His technical brilliance would not have been squandered like they are now with this current iteration of Milan. He just has that Carlos Valderrama and Cubillas flare to him.

Oh well I love him and wished he stayed and owned a spot on the starting XI, but now it might be better to go somewhere where he would be more treasured and get actual playing time to develop his game.

And hopefully blossom into that player he can be.

    1. If we have a club willing to take to take him, good for him. He may not be the worst in the midfield, but, he, certainly, has not been fantastic. It’s his time to leave. Tomorrow, it may be Loftus-Cheek. Fiorentina is a chance to improve his game. That’s the way the game has always been. Kaka was sold despite objections from the fans; Thiago Silva and Ibra too. Football will always be “buy, sell, loan”. And it is not restricted to the average players.

      1. Of course he has not been fantastic but for a brief showing of glimpses.
Because he has been played out of position when he got playing time.

And frozen out when he was deemed not ready. He is a natural AM after all, and dare if I say so the best creative passer we have on the team. But not once was he ever tried there. Play Adli with a pit bull like midfield workhorse like Gattuso, and see whether he would not flourish. But alas the incompetent gods that be at Milan has deemed him surplus to requirement.

  5. Fofana in front of defence and Aldi behind Morata in the 10 playing balls in the channels. Sell RLC and Musah who are only muscle and energy but useless. Liberalli will take that spot in a year with Carmarda so start playing with creativity now. I’d also change Timori for Gabbia.
