Report: Atalanta star will join Milan and earn €2.5m per year – the latest update

By Isak Möller -

Milan have been working very hard on the transfer market and they are far from done, with a few more signings in the pipeline. Two positions that need filling, for example, is the attacking mid and right-wing.

One player that can play in both of these positions is Josip Ilicic, who has been heavily linked with the Rossoneri this summer. The 33-year-old is very experienced and knows Serie A well, so he would be able to slot right into the team.

According to Milan Club Slovenia, citing the player’s entourage, Ilicic will join Milan this summer from Atalanta. He will sign a contract that is worth €4m per year. The contract length wasn’t mentioned in the report. (Correction, €4m transfer fee, €2.5m contract).

It remains to be seen if this is true and if further confirmation will arrive from other sources as well. In any case, it’s very interesting but you can also understand why the management want to make the signing.

  1. Am so glad to hear this! I hope it happens! Now with his signing, I don’t see why we can’t aim for the champions league title too…. Forza Milan!

    1. Lmao not too sure about CL title but we sure can be targeting 1 title this season. Be it Coppa Italia, Supercup or Serie A. I won’t mind going trophy less but at the same time ensuring CL qualification.

  2. This guy is unplayable ON HIS DAY, but he disappears from games every now and then and has a terrible performance. Age is no on his side. He’s super slow and won’t run or press.

I’m not sure, although he will be a good short-term solution at the end of the window if we can’t get someone better and younger.
