Report: Barcelona want €56m Milan target or Rafael Leao to replace striker

By Oliver Fisher -

Barcelona are examining a number of possible options to replace Luis Suarez, a report claims, with Rafael Leao on the shortlist.

According to Spanish outlet Diario AS, the Catalan giants are aware that given Suarez is now 32, has a deal until 2021 and has been inconsistent as of late, they are in need of a long-term replacement.

The report states that Barca are looking strikers between 20 and 26 years old, one of whom is Inter star Lautaro Martinez.

Another name mentioned in the report is PSV sensation Donyall Malen, a player that is also apparently being tracked by Real Madrid.

The 20-year-old has 16 goals and six assists in 18 appearances this season so far, including 10 goals in nine Eredivisie games, and has recently broken into the Netherlands side.

Calciomercato.com reported on Thursday that the Rossoneri are ‘continuing the scout’ Malen ahead of a possible move, though he is valued at €56m.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are apparently ‘following the track’ of Rafael Leao, who arrived at Milan in the summer for €28m and scored his first goal for the club two weeks ago.

The fourth and final name the report mentions is Lille forward Victor Osimhem, who as eight goals in 11 competitive games so far this season. He has also been linked to Milan recently.
