Report: Bundesliga side match Chelsea’s €27m bid for Poland star but agent want Spurs move

By Oliver Fisher -

Hertha Berlin have matched Chelsea’s bid for AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek, it is claimed, but his agent is pushing for a move to Spurs.

The Pole started alongside Ante Rebic Milan’s 4-2 extra time win over Torino in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday night but subbed off after 65 minutes and was heavily criticised by the Italian press for his performance.

Louis Girardi reported earlier on Wednesday that the Poland international’s agent has informed Milan that his client has agreed personal terms with Spurs ahead of a potential move.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio then made the shock claim that the 24-year-old is moving closer and closer towards a move to the German capital as Hertha Berlin have made a €27m offer.

Now, Girardi has given an update on the situation by insisting that Chelsea have also made a €27m offer for Piatek, a figure matched by Hertha.

However, he adds that the preference of his agent is to engineer a move to Spurs, and that it is not yet known whether the Bundesliga side’s offer is for a permanent outright deal or for a loan with option/obligation to buy.
