Report: Chelsea hatch plan involving Bakayoko to get AC Milan star Kessie

Chelsea think that they can prise star midfielder Franck Kessie away from AC Milan for €40-50m, a report claims.

Various reports have suggested that Maurizio Sarri is keen on a move for Kessie, who is on a two-year loan at Milan from Atalanta with an option to buy set at around €24million.

Sarri is reportedly aware that the Rossoneri are operating under UEFA Financial Fair Play penalties and could use this to his advantage.

In addition, Chelsea could use the situation surrounding Tiemoue Bakayoko to their advantage too, with the midfielder having arrived on loan from the Blues with a €35m option to buy at the end of the season.

The Premier League side could, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, use the Bakayoko deal to try and lower the asking price on Kessie, but it would still apparently be €40-50m even with the former Monaco man thrown in.
