Report: Chelsea want Milan and Inter stars as part of €220m triple raid on Serie A

By Oliver Fisher -

Chelsea are lining up a move for Gianluigi Donnarumma as part of a triple raid on Serie A worth around €220million, a report claims.

According to the London Evening Standard – who cite sources in Italy – Chelsea are ready to splash the cash this summer by signing three players from Serie A in a £200m triple swoop.

The first name mentioned is Juventus playmaker Miralem Pjanic, who has fallen behind Rodrigo Bentancur, Blaise Matuidi and Aaron Ramsey in the pecking order this season and could be available for around €60m.

Then comes Inter striker Lautaro Martinez who has a £101m (€110m) release clause, but Antonio Conte is understandably reluctant to let his star striker leave – especially to a former club – while Barcelona continue to be heavily linked.

The report adds that Chelsea also want to sign Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who they believe is available for around €50m and could become their new long-term No.1 with Kepa Arrizabalaga’s recent struggles.

Donnarumma’s deal runs out in 2021 meaning the Rossoneri need to either secure a renewal between now and the start of the new season or they risk losing him for free, so would likely sell him in the next window if there is no chance of extending.
