Report: Eletu’s 2022 gets even better after Nigeria call-up ahead of U20 AFCON

By Oliver Fisher -

A memorable recent period for Victor Eletu seems to have gotten even better as he will become a Nigeria youth international, a report claims.

Eletu has been a key part of Ignazio Abate’s Primavera side so far having made 19 appearances in the current campaign across all competitions, with the 17-year-old playing predominantly as a deeper-lying midfielder in front of the back four.

Earlier this month, a photo emerged confirming that Eletu has extended his contract until 2025 in a deal was completed by Ted Dimvula –  the lawyer that is in talks with Milan over Rafael Leao’s extension – and then in a friendly against Lumezzane the teenager got a goal and an assist off the bench to really make his mark.

According to a report from OwnGoalNigeria, it seems that Eletu will soon become a Nigeria U20 international as their head coach Ladan Bosso has chosen him to participate in the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held from 18 February to 12 March 2023.
