Report: Liverpool will not block exit of Old Trafford hero amid AC Milan links

By Oliver Fisher -

Liverpool will not stand in Adam Lallana’s way should he wish to leave amid links with a move to AC Milan, according to a report.

The attacking midfielder has struggled for game time under Jurgen Klopp so far this season, but he did come off the bench to score a late equaliser against Manchester United on Sunday.

The 31-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season, but Liverpool have an option to extend it by a further year.

A recent report from Calciomercato.it claims that the Rossoneri are one of two clubs in Italy who are interested in the idea of signing Lallana as he ‘has the experience that would serve a young team like Milan’. Lazio were also linked.

According to the latest from The Athletic (via 90min), Liverpool want to keep Lallana around for a bit longer as Klopp values the playmaker, but they are only willing to offer short-term deal.

The Reds are ‘reluctant to offer a sizeable contract’ and ‘will not stand in his way’ if he chooses to accept a more lucrative deal from elsewhere, the report claims.
