AC Milan are still monitoring Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer but are yet to make a formal approach or offer, according to a report.
It is seemingly no secret that Milan are looking to bolster their defensive department with the signing of a new centre-back, and while Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic is the player who continues to be strongest linked, Kristoffer Ajer’s name has never gone away.
According to the Glasgow Times and Herald, Milan are still looking at the Norway international as a potential summer signing, and they claim that sources have suggested Milan ‘could be ready to swoop’.
Director Paolo Maldini in particular is named as being a big fan of the 22-year-old Ajer, who as per the report has been linked with a move to Southampton and Liverpool in recent weeks.
With Alessio Romagnoli and Mateo Musacchio out the centre-back department looks threadbare for the Rossoneri, so an addition sooner rather than later would be ideal.
