Report: Man Utd join Man City in race for €50m Milan star – player open to move

By Oliver Fisher -

A Manchester derby could be on the cards for AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer this summer, according to a report.

Fichajes.net – citing sources in England – writes how Manchester United showed interest in Miralem Pjanic of Barcelona and Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester, but both operations are complicated due to the high economic demands of their respective teams, which is why Bennacer is now a target.

The Algerian midfielder – who has a €50m release clause which becomes active this summer – has become a new target for the Red Devils who are ready to battle with Manchester City to try to sign him.

For his part, the 23-year-old would be interested in going to a team that is ready to win trophies now, taking into account that Milan’s project is still a long way from being able to compete with the elite clubs, so it seems Milan will have to do some work in order to keep him.

  1. If any team is willing to shell out €50m and he wants to go then this sounds good to me. We can get a good midfielder and possibly one other quality signing instead (like Orsolini or more cash for De Paul).

  2. I totally supports any player who wants to leave AC MILAN in order for him to win trophies. AC MILAN are never serious. Bunch of idiots!

    1. I agree, Cash in on him…we have Tonali, ready to play..50M can be re-invested to get a RW and a striker in that Money
