Report: Man Utd launched €35m offer for Italian talent but agent pushes player to Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Manchester United tried to insert themselves into the race for Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali but failed because he is AC Milan bound, it is claimed.

Despite it seeming like the 20-year-old was on his way to rivals Inter, speculation has exploded over the last few weeks suggesting that Milan are pushing strongly for Tonali.

According to a report from The Sun, Manchester United in recent weeks made an attempt to buy Tonali, but were not successful.

The Red Devils even made an offer of around £31million (around €35m), but would have received a negative response from the entourage of the young Italian talent who is determined to continue his career in Serie A.

The report adds that United were already worried about missing out on Tonali as his agent advised him to stay in Italy.

Meanwhile, SportMediaset (via MilanNews) are reporting that Milan’s owners Elliott Management have even given their approval for Paolo Maldini and co. to close the operation.
