Report: Milan battling Inter, Leeds and four others in race for €20m Argentine striker

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are one of the clubs in the running to land Stuttgart forward Nicolas Gonzalez, according to a report.

Gonzalez is a striker who fired Stuttgart into the Bundesliga with 14 goals in the 2019-20 campaign, including nine in this calendar year alone.

FOX Sports Argentina (via MilanNews) recently reported that the Rossoneri have made the most concrete proposal for the young forward who recently expressed his desire to leave, stating: “I have already spoken to the club and I am ready for a new chapter in my career.”

Milan of course are in the market for attacking depth this summer given the doubts over the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Gonzalez has been mentioned as a target before.

According to the latest from Transfermarkt, Gonzalez wants to leave Germany this summer, and the list of clubs that want him is long. Milan, Inter, Roma, Lazio, and Atalanta want him, as well as Napoli and now Leeds United.

He is under contract until 2023 without a release clause though, meaning the Bundesliga side will be able to command whatever fee they wish, though a fee of around €20m has been mentioned.
