Report: Milan could swoop for Barcelona-bound striker as contacts are frequent

By Isak Möller -

Milan are looking for a striker on the market as Zlatan Ibrahimovic can’t play every game, and next season will most likely be his last. Several names are thus on the wish list of Paolo Maldini, including Memphis Depay.

The Dutch striker, currently at Lyon, will be a free agent in the summer and has been linked with the Rossoneri in the past. According to Daniel Speranza, Milan are back in the running for the 27-year-old.

In recent weeks, there have been frequent contacts between Maldini and the entourage of the player to talk about the free transfer. Depay would like a move to Milan but the possible hurdle could be his salary demands.

According to Marca, Barcelona have more or less secured the services of Depay but it also depends on the future of Ronald Koeman. Should the Dutch coach leave the Spanish side, then the situation would change completely.
