Report: Milan defender attracting interest from Boca Juniors as Celtic stay is unlikely

On-loan AC Milan defender Diego Laxalt is being lined up by Boca Juniors in Argentine as he is unlikely to stay at Celtic, a report claims.

Laxalt left for the Scottish side on a season-long loan deal towards the end of the last summer transfer window, having had a difficult spell with Milan. The 27-year-old joined the Rossoneri from Genoa in 2018, and has made 35 appearances for the club so far.

Celtic were Milan’s opponents in this season’s UEFA Europa League group stages, and while Laxalt initially impressed, he has since become inconsistent as per the general consensus on social media.

According to what is being reported by @sebaongok on Twitter – who cites Argentine media – Laxalt is attracting the interest of Boca Juniors in Argentina. The Uruguay international is currently on loan at Celtic from Milan and it’s unlikely that he will remain beyond the end of the season as the Glasgow side are plotting an overhaul.
