Report: Milan monitoring situation of Bologna star as club must make key decision

By Isak Möller -

In addition to the current transfer window, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are also working on the future of the club. That entails, of course, following players that might become relevant for them transfer-wise.

According to reports from Il Resto Del Carlino, as cited by MilanNews, Milan are monitoring the situation of Mattias Svanberg. The midfielder, who is expected to become an important player for Sweden, has attracted their interest.

Svanberh’s contract with Bologna will expire in 2023 and the Rossoblu are now faced with an important decision: renew the contract or monetise. As things stand, they want the former option with a new deal until 2026.

In addition to Milan, the likes of Juventus, Inter, Napoli and Atalanta have also expressed their interest in the player. Therefore, it’s also possible that Svanberg and his agent could push for a move instead of a renewal, which would make things interesting.
