Report: Milan on alert as Marseille star rejects first renewal offer – the figures

By Isak Möller -

Having signed three players, Milan’s mercato for this month is seemingly closed, as was confirmed by sporting director Ricky Massara last night. However, if there are opportunities, things could change.

The Rossoneri have been linked with several players in recent months and of course, it’s very interesting to look at potential free agents in the summer. Florian Thauvin is one of the players that could leave for free, and Milan are interested.

In an interview with Telefoot, back in November, Paolo Maldini admitted that they are keeping tabs on the French winger. And their interest certainly has cooled of since, especially since Marseille are struggling to renew the contract.

According to Nico Schira, Thauvin has rejected their first renewal offer of €2.5m per year plus bonuses until 2024. He’s asking for €4m per year, which could be tough for the French side to pay. Milan, on the other hand, might be willing.
