Report: Milan reignite interest in Barcelona starlet but excessive price tag baffles

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the transfer window, which has been postponed until September, AC Milan are probing the market for potential targets. As usual, the Rossoneri don’t want to be caught unprepared, thus starting their work in time.

Among other things, they will be looking to sign a centre-back as only Simon Kjaer and Alessio Romagnoli have performed on a high level. According to Foot Mercato, Milan have reignited their interest in Jean-Clair Todibo.

The Barcelona man has returned from his loan spell at Schalke 04 and is now ready to start a new adventure. Milan, per the report, have been following the Barcelona defender for many months and even tried to sign him back in January.

In addition to the Rossoneri, Stade Rennais have also added the 20-year-old to their wish list but one obstacle will be hard to overcome: the price tag. The Catalan side are still asking for €25m to part ways with the centre-back.

A price tag set before the COVID-19 pandemic and which today seems totally disproportionate to the market. For now, therefore, the clubs interested have been scared off by the excessive demands.
