Report: Milan remain ready to pounce as Sassuolo star Berardi looks for exit

AC Milan’s pursuit of Domenico Berardi is far from over and the winger wants to leave Sassuolo for a bigger club, according to a report.

NotizieMilan reports that the Sassuolo star wanted to leave during the most recent summer transfer window and even asked the Neroverdi management to be sold, but without being satisfied. Despite this, Berardi is having an excellent season with four goals to his name in the league.

Now, the 27-year-old wants to finally change clubs and make a leap in his career. Fiorentina were ‘very close’ to the Italy international over the summer but failed to close the deal, though La Viola club still remains in pole position.

Milan remains lurking and in case of a sudden opportunity, Berardi would be perfect in Stefano Pioli’s 4-2-3-1. At the moment the Diavolo have Alexis Saelemaekers in that role plus Samu Castillejo and the on-loan Junior Messias, but there are doubts about the latter two.
