Report: Milan see €7.7m bid for USA international rejected; new offer not ruled out

AC Milan have seen a bid rejected by Championship side Wigan Athletic for young full-back Antonee Robinson, according to a report.

It has been widely reported that the Rossoneri are in the market for a new left-sided defender Ricardo Rodriguez is set to complete a move to PSV Eindhoven on the basis of a €2m paid loan with option to buy set at €4m.

Robinson was tipped by many to be Milan’s first choice to replace the Swiss international, though then it appeared that Paolo Maldini and Zvonomir Boban were focusing on Club Nacional’s Matias Vina.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio is now reporting that Vina will not be the player to replace Rodriguez as the negotiation will not go through.

Despite suggestions Milan are focusing on other targets, they have seemingly still been working on a deal to sign Wigan’s Robison.

According to the latest from Football Insider, the Greater Manchester club have rejected an offer worth £6.5m from Milan for the USA international, equivalent to roughly €7.7m

The seven-figure offer has been rebuffed as the Championship strugglers wish to keep the prized 22-year-old past Friday’s deadline, but another bid from the Rossoneri is not ruled out.
