Report: Milan ‘serious’ and have ‘good chance’ of signing €25m Chelsea man

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have a good chance of concluding a deal for Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko once the season ends, it is claimed.

The midfield seems to be the department in which the Rossoneri will undergo the most overhaul this summer, and Bakayoko is a name who has been repeatedly linked over the past few weeks, even as far back as January.

A number of sources have reported that the Frenchman is intent on rejoining Milan in the upcoming transfer window, with MilanNews claiming that the club’s management dream of creating a Bennacer-Bakayoko pairing in midfield, as part of Rangnick’s new-look 4-4-2 system.

Journalist Nicolo Schira stated on Twitter last night that Milan are in talks over Bakayoko’s return and Chelsea are willing to sell for a fee of €20-25m. In addition, the Rossoneri management are working on a plan to spread his salary over a four year deal, to €4m-a-year.

We contacted Schira to get some further comments, and he confirmed that there is a ‘good chance’ of Milan completely the deal as Bakayoko ‘wants to return’.

He added that it will be a ‘complex operation’ but that the Diavolo are ‘serious’ about getting it over the line.

Il Corriere dello Sport (via TMW) recently claimed that Chelsea are not backing down from the €42million transfer fee they agreed with Monaco for Bakayoko, so this would represent a cut price deal.
