Report: Milan willing to part ways with defender as Valencia consider January move

By Isak Möller -

Mateo Musacchio is still recovering from an injury and has a few more weeks left before he can return to training. However, he isn’t expected to get many chances for Milan as the plans are very different.

Musacchio underwent ankle surgery in the summer and he’s expected to return at the end of October. Although the Rossoneri are dealing with somewhat of a centre-back crisis, the Argentine isn’t expected to compete for a starting spot.

According to TodoFichajes, Valencia have added the 30-year-old to their wish list and the player himself would prefer a return to Spain. The contract with Milan will expire in June 2021 and thus the Rossoneri are willing to part ways in January.

Although they won’t get anywhere near the €18m they paid in 2017, they would only need €2.25m to break even. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara could let him go for less, though, as they would save six months of his salary.
