Report: Newcastle in talks over €35m AC Milan striker; Spurs also linked

By Oliver Fisher -

Premier League side Newcastle United are interested in a move for AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek, according to a report.

MilanNews.it stated recently that Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s arrival means that Milan will consider offers that will arrive for Piatek in January with a valuation starting from €35million, or a slightly higher figure.

His future has been described as ‘under scrutiny’ by the Italian press over the weekend, with the Poland international having netted just once from open play all season, while  Calciomercato.it suggested that Spurs could joined the race after learning of Harry Kane’s injury.

The report added that Piatek has already rejected offers from Genoa and Crystal Palace as he would like to stay and fight for his starting spot, but at the same time he would consider attractive offers.

Now, a report from The Sun claims that Newcastle have now entered the hunt and wish to land the 24-year-old on loan with an option to buy, with talks having opened.

The Magpies sit five points above the drop zone in the Premier League but have scored just 20 goals this season, and only two sides have scored less.
