Report: Roma in talks with Milan as they look to beat Spurs, Chelsea to striker deal

By Oliver Fisher -

Roma have made an enquiry about signing AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek after learning about his availability, a report claims.

According to an exclusive on LaRoma24.it, the Giallorossi are interested in the idea of a last-minute move for Piatek as their manager Paulo Fonseca wants to reinforce his striking options.

The report claims that a deal could materialise with the formula of a loan, but only if Milan could then collect money via an option or obligation to buy.

In the last few hours there has been a chat between the the two clubs regarding the Poland international, and if Boban is not able to sell him to England then the door may be open.

La Gazzetta dello Sport’s Nicolo Schira reported on Sunday that Piatek’s agent has offered the striker to Chelsea as a potential replacement for Olivier Giroud, who is closing in on a move for Inter.

However, he also acknowledged that Spurs are also in the race to land the 24-year-old, and the same journalist offered an update on Monday confirming that contacts are ongoing between Tottenham and Milan over a potential deal.
