Report: Tonali says yes to Milan move; €35m bid could be enough to beat Inter

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have the approval of Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali regarding a summer move, a report claims, but Inter have made the higher bid.

The Rossoneri continue to be linked with a move for the 20-year-old as they look to strengthen their options in midfield with the imminent departure of Lucas Biglia, and Tonali is a boyhood fan of the club which could help their cause.

Spanish outlet Todofichajes are reporting that Tonali has made it known through his agent Beppe Bozzo that he would be happy to join Milan after enquiries from the Rossoneri management.

However, in order to seal a deal it will be necessary to match Inter’s offer for the Italy international. The Nerazzurri have put €35million on the table to try and win the race for Tonali, but if Milan offered the same sum to Brescia, sources suggest they could overtake their historical rivals and secure the signing of one of the league’s brightest talent.

At the moment however, it seems difficult that the Rossoneri can spend this amount on a central midfielder, as Stefano Pioli has other priorities and a budget that is not yet set.

  1. You make this signing and you make it now! Depth is needed at CM position and if Pioli is to continue at the helm running the 4-2-3-1, you will need to start developing quality rotation when you get Europa League (eventually UCL) to be able to compete. Tonali has proven his worth with Brescia and offer up Plizzari if you need to lower the €35M demand and hope they will take €25M with the inclusion of Plizzari……assuming you are re-signing Donnarumma!

    1. Agree, it would really be difficult to accept tonali ending up in inter or any other club for that matter if we actually has the chance to sign him. I would like if we could keep plizzari but if it can easen the deal id also accept him going the other direction as he has practically no chance to play with us as long donnarumma stays with us. In such scenario i do think it would make some sense to have either a buyback clause or a first refusal implemented in such operation.

      1. small add on, i dont think we can squeaze the price down to 25 mil though but even if he will endup costing 35 it would still be a deal we should pursuit,

  2. We had sensi and they hijack him from us. We had barella and they snatched him also. Now tonalli, if they took him it shows that Maldini and Milan management are clueless and useless.
