Report: Unwanted Chelsea man closing in on €30m Bayern Munich move despite Milan links

By Oliver Fisher -

There will be no AC Milan reunion for Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko as he is close to joining Bayern Munich, according to a report.

A number of sources have reported that the Frenchman is intent on rejoining Milan in the upcoming transfer window, with MilanNews claiming that the club’s management dream of creating a Bennacer-Bakayoko pairing in midfield, as part of Rangnick’s new-look 4-4-2 system.

Then, French outlet Le10Sport (via Sportsmole) reported that Bayern Munich are in the race for Bakayoko as Thiago Alcantara and Javi Martinez will leave the club, while Corentin Tolisso has also been linked with a move away.

According to TodoFichajes, the Bavarians are in fact closing in on a deal for the former Monaco man as they want muscle in the midfield.

Bakayoko played on loan at Monaco this season and although the Province club had an option to buy, they chose not to exercise it.  He is also not in Frank Lampard’s plans for the future, and talks between the Blues and Bayern are well advanced over a €30m deal.
