Reports: Atletico Madrid defender wants Italy move with Milan in the race

By Euan Burns -

Atletico Madrid defender Mario Hermoso is set to leave the club on a free transfer and is favouring a move to Serie A, with AC Milan in the frame.

As has been reported by DAZN and El Chiringuito TV (via Football Italia), the 28-year-old defender has got most of Serie A’s top sides on his tale and he is expected to bring valuable defensive experience to a team like Milan, Roma, Napoli, Inter or Juventus.

He is soon to turn 29 and after a long spell at Atletico Madrid under the guidance of Diego Simeone, he seems destined not to sign a new contract and will be hot property on the free agent market.

Napoli are said to be the favourite to win his signature as it stands, but other sides will be able to offer European football which could appeal to him more.

Calciomercato.it have suggested that Inter is where Hermoso could end up, with Milan also tempted to make him an offer. Roma have already been in talks with his agent.

The Spaniard has been at Atletico Madrid since joining from Espanyol in 2019, but he is actually a product of the Real Madrid academy. He has played 45 games this season.

    1. This guy is on a free transfer. His salary isn’t acceptable. Inter can’t buy anyone right now without selling.
