Reports: Ballo-Toure set for France return in deal worth less than €1m – the details

By Oliver Fisher -

Fode Ballo-Toure is close to sealing an exit from AC Milan as a deal with Saint-Etienne is now in the final stages, according to reports.

Ballo-Toure arrived at Milan from Monaco to be the deputy to Theo Hernandez but he ultimately never convinced and was sent on loan to Fulham last season. He barely got any game time in west London and returned at the end of his spell, with new accommodation sought.

Reports emerged last night claiming that a return to France could be on the cards for the left-back because Saint-Etienne are keen on him, and things have moved quickly because the deal is now close to completion.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Saint-Etienne have ‘agreed terms’ with Milan to sign Ballo-Touré and an agreement is ‘close also with the full-back’ as the final details are being sorted.

Matteo Moretto of Relevo also confirms that the handshakes and the exchange of documents is very close, while the deal between the clubs is structured on bonuses, with the figure not reaching €1m in total. This is something our sources have also confirmed.

For the Rossoneri the key thing is that they would save €2,676,062 next season when considering the amount of amortisation remaining on Ballo-Toure’s initial transfer fee plus his gross salary.

  1. Does no one wants to keep Balo ? I mean his far from the best but was ok as a back up to me. Hope he does better in his next club.

    1. He is not good enough and we have too many foreign players, some need to go.

Excluding Origi we still need to sell 3 foreign players.

      1. Wait.. although they demoted and not registered in first team, they still keep the foreigner spot? Daym, serie a is tough.

      1. Yea thats good i guess that there will be more space for younger talents. I still think he was ok player tho for the money that we payed for him.

  2. Worth less than €1mn but saves us €2mn. As many have mentioned, we gotta repeat this trick with Origi

Then hopefully a sell with a “real” transfer fee eg Adli /Pobega/Saelamaekers since CDK and Brescianinni money doesn’t arrive til next year

  3. Not only a good deal, but a good spot for the player too. For all the rejoicing on here, he’s a player who never said a bad word about the club (despite being cast out of the squad), always gave his best effort for the shirt and scored one particularly memorable goal.

It’s right he moves on and I wish him the best and hope he goes somewhere that he can be a consistent starter for a couple of years.

    1. Well the issue is there were other offers and he just kept turning them down. Which is his right. But it made it more difficult for us to find a solution.

  4. I find it hilarious that ALL users here can come together around Toure leaving while disagreeing pretty much on everything else 🤣🤣🤣

Maybe Toure IS the chosen one to mend this world together (outside of Milan)

    1. Seriously that was way more funny that I expected it to be 😂 🤣
Maybe they should send bro to is.rael and Rus/Ukr, he might solve world peace in one go and get named Time Man of the Year 😅

  5. they should have sold him for 5 million or nothing…. 🤣😅 This management is terrible. Okay, I have to admit, it is time to put the bashing aside, they are doing a good job. Nice to see him find new team. Best of luck Touré. On to the first fixture we go.
