Reports: Celtic secure deal for Milan defender with medicals imminent – the details

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan defender Diego Laxalt is all set for a move to join Scottish side Celtic on a dry loan, according to a report.

Just as it seemed as though the Uruguay international would remain at Milan beyond the window and be Theo Hernandez’s deputy, rumours have erupted over the past 48 hours suggesting Laxalt could in fact leave.

Speculation emerged suggesting that both Real Betis and Olympiacos are interested in signing Laxalt, but it appears that Celtic have stolen a march on those two sides to secure the services of the former Genoa man.

According to MilanNews and Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo, the agent of Laxalt has confirmed the imminent move to Celtic for his client. This morning Laxalt will be in London for the usual medical examinations, then he will move up to Glasgow to sign the contract that will bind him to the Scottish Premier League for a season on a dry loan.
