Reports: Chelsea desperate for defender to join Milan over Spurs – player gives green light

By Oliver Fisher -

Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger looks the more likely to sign for AC Milan than Schalke’s Ozan Kabak on deadline day, a report claims.

Up until now, Milan have been unable to agree a fee with Schalke for Ozan Kabak. As of Saturday night it seemed as though there was optimism regarding the potential signing of Kabak from the Bundesliga side, with the two parties moving closer and closer to agreeing a deal, but there are reports that Schalke’s €30m asking price is considered too high.

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Rudiger is a more viable track than Kabak at the moment given that there is little time to close the deal for the latter, with the formula and figures involved.

Directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara want to lower the demands of Chelsea for the paid loan, while the player has already given the green light to join Milan.

Meanwhile, Dean Jones of Bleacher Report is reporting that Chelsea are happy to let Rudiger join Milan, because they really do not want him to end up at rivals Spurs.
