Mike Maignan has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea and per the latest reports, a total agreement is now close. Following a slightly improved offer, the Stamford Bridge side could get the green light tomorrow.
Maignan’s current contract with Milan will expire next summer, and following failed renewal talks, the goalkeeper is now ready to move on. Chelsea are in advanced negotiations over the Frenchman and with the Club World Cup fast approaching, there is an urgency to the matter.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Stamford Bridge side have put a fixed fee of €15m on the table for Milan. The ball is now in the latter’s court, with an answer needed before the Club World Cup transfer window closes on Tuesday next week.
Improved offer does the trick
As added by Calciomercato.com, since the first offer was rejected, Chelsea improved their offer slightly to €15m plus an additional €5m in bonuses (€3m that are easy to achieve, €2m that are difficult to achieve).

Maignan already has an agreement with Chelsea and when it comes to the clubs, a total agreement on the transfer fee is now ‘close’, per the report. Tomorrow will be the decisive day as Milan will decide whether or not to give the green light to the operation.
Today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport is also stating that an agreement is close, with the deal set to be completed tomorrow. Milan will turn their attention to Mile Svilar, the goalkeeper of Roma, as soon as Maignan’s exit materialises.

Reject that, better let use him one more season. 15m euro + 5m euro add on cannot get good new GK replacement
You can’t easy use player that want to go.
Plus at leat 12 million of capital gain helps reduces loses next year
What an absolute disaster from this management. Renew his contract then sell for something more improved.
Yes, this is exactly how things are working. You can easily renew someone’s contract who wants to leave, and you can easily sell him a year later for much more money. This isn’t FM, where you enter editor mode and renew someone’s contract who doesn’t want to renew…
Chelsea are delirious- 10mil and now a whopping 15mil for France’s #1 keeper? 👀 The problem is Mike and management are coming off as delirious too…
Mike is as stupid as it gets. He could have gone to an actually good club for that money. Probably best he leaves asap.
Yeh I don’t have a problem with him wanting to leave but feels like it could’ve been handled better on both sides…
Mike accepted extension at 5mil salary. But for some reason Milan management changed their mind and didn’t extend his contract. Now Mike doesn’t want to extend and wants to leave.
According to some reports, furlani agreed to Mike’s 5 mil salary request and both parties were ready to extend. But after a trip to NY meeting Gerry, he never called back and the deal was never materialized. Incompetence.
Cuz Chelsea management knows what they are doing compared to Milan jack heads.
What a tool!! 🤣🤣🤣 You can’t go to Chelsea. I am really happy we got rid of him to be honest. Low IQ guy, obviously.
Yea yea sure, its never Redbird fault. Its always the players.
The key player wants to play cl after put the Club where they are,the management should have keep Theo, Theo leaving is causing the club to loose some key players
Not playing in the champion league does that to players. They become irritated, forgetting they’re the ones who could have changed that.
While it’s messed up that the clown management lied to Mike regarding the contract after the agreement, the truth is he was on decline performance wise for last 2 years. To be honest I’m not sure if I would want him to stay. There is nothing you can do when a player wants to leave.
They’re only trying to reduce the big earners in the selling the stars and cut salary cap to 2.5/3m again
No CL is more of an Emerson, RLC, Musah, Gimenez, Fofana, Joao Felix, Pavlovic, Chukweze deal than
Tijjani, Leao, Mike or Theo problem. They gave us a couple of good seasons each, not so great when the mediocre bunch showed up, they were also overplayed, overworked and underpaid.
Then management and fans think they will be underpaid again for one bad year when they been fleecing those players and not supporting them at all, because the management didn’t bring in players that were good enough to compete with them? Furliani and Moncada have had 3 abysmal years, their wages haven’t dropped and neither was released…yall got a lot to say about the guys who actually sweated and gave their hearts to our colours.
I dont think Mike wants to leave, its the media creating news
Put an option to renew (for a year or so) so that he can be sold for a good amount of money or let him sit on the bench for a year so that he’ll risk his position in the world cup squad.
€15m too small
I’ve been terrified of opening this site & twitter every day since the season ended
All the Milan’s Administrative boards are bunch of disappointment and Disgrace. What’s really going? How much is are this people really requesting that just a little increment you can afford? Common Lazio, Napoli are far better than Milan in salaries and signing. As big as Milan we can’t if compete for a player with premiership relegation team. So annoying… We only can afford rejected players. Players that are surplus to requirement in their team. So so shameful
Milan should asap sell Mike because he is not longer the one from 4 years ago, is slow and has no reaction.
When Milan plays bad the GK can save the game, now with Mike that is not possible.
