Reports: Double green light given as Milan defender moves towards €7m Fiorentina move

By Oliver Fisher -

The sale of Andrea Conti to Fiorentina appears to be moving in the right direction as AC Milan have approved his exit, a report claims.

Last night our market correspondent Pietro Balzano Prota has told us that Fiorentina are following Conti closely and are interested in signing him to replace Pol Lirola, who is Marseille-bound. He told us earlier today that Fiorentina want Conti as their new right-back and are ready to sign him on a permanent basis.

Now, he has told us that contacts are expected in the coming days between La Viola and the Rossoneri management who would still like to monetise the sale of the full-back.

According to reports from Di Marzio (via MilanNews), Milan have given their ok to the sale of the former Atalanta man, just as the player accepted Fiorentina as a destination. The two clubs have not yet had contact, while in the next few hours the player’s agent will have an appointment with the Florence-based club.

The formula could be an 18-month loan with an obligation to buy at €7million.

  1. This really might not be a good idea. From what little I have seen of Conti since XMas break, he has looked better than Dalot.

I’d recommend keeping him till at least summer before taking a final decision.

With Davide required at midfield as well, probably RB is not where we should be looking to cut flab.

    1. Don’t forget that Kalulu is technically a RB so he would also provide the necessary coverage for Calabria for the remainder of the season if Calabria moves to CM. At this point, 7M for Conti is a steal and might as well take it and re-invest into a CM so Calabria doesn’t have to play there.

Solid move and get it done!

  2. Agreed. Conti needs a fresh start. 7m at this point is great he hasn’t played in 2 years. Use the 7m – 4m for Simakan to wrap up the deal finally and if still available use the 3m to push the Kone deal through.
