Yunus Musah headed straight down the tunnel after a humiliating substitution against Fiorentina, forcing his AC Milan teammates Alessandro Florenzi and Strahinja Pavlovic to intervene.
Musah played yesterday’s game from start but after making a fatal mistake on Fiorentina’s first goal, he was subbed off in the 23rd minute. Sergio Conceicao brought on Luka Jovic instead and while the sub worked to recover a point, the situation was far from ideal.

The American midfielder headed straight down the tunnel to avoid hearing the boos of the San Siro, feeling ‘humiliated’ by the early substitution as told by Calciomercato.com. Strahinja Pavlovic and Alessandro Florenzi intervened, bringing the player back to the bench and apologising to the coach for the disrespect.
For many, however, Musah’s reaction was perhaps justified given how it was handled. It’s also not the first time that it has happened, with the midfielder taken off after 30 minutes against Lazio a few weeks back. In short, it doesn’t build confidence.
Gazzetta dello Sport also confirmed the reports above (see photo below), stating that Conceicao told Florenzi to get Musah back on the bench. Tensions are still running high within the club, no doubt about it, and one could argue last night’s sub could have been handled better.

A professional needs to understand the peculiar and drastic situation the club is, Musa gave a very unprofessional pass, that cost us a goal, and look at what Hernandez did, their were people who he could have passed to, instead he decided to shoot the ball high, in that critical hour of the game in which his team needed to win .
I love how they leave out that Musah and Conceicao shared a hug and talked after he came back to the bench but this will def create more outrage for the uninformed fans

You’re right on a high level, re what people write about these days. It’s all about outrage, because outrage leads to clicks. That being said, all of this isn’t about the condition of Musah and Conceicao’s relationship. It’s about Conceicao’s continued poor choices. Everyone knows that Musah tends to just run with ball when he should pass, then makes sloppy passes, etc. He’s had long enough to progress, and hasn’t shown it. He’s not Milan calibre. So why did he start? Once again Conceicao was forced to make first half or halftime changes while chasing a result, because of the individual mistake of a player who is prone to making individual mistakes.
How do you handle a sub better when he f*cked up and deserved to be benched? He shouldn’t even start the match in first place. And he needs to start take responsibility for his performances which are horrendous. He’s worse than Bakaye Traore from our Banter Era Volume I.

It’s very important and lesson to other players. Big coach and great coaches used to do so. If you didn’t according to his Instructions a change is needed.
Conceição was wrong to start Musah and even worse to sub him off again for the second time so early in the game.
I blame Conceição more than Musah because he’s not managing the players right. You destroy a young player confidence by doing that.
What don’t understand is that Conceição favors a 442 formation but he still persists with a 4231 formation and he’s constantly changing the defensive pair. He’s causing a lot of problems in this team.

Musah needs to be loaned out to improve his decision making.
He should go to a lower level Premiere League or mid-upper level Championship team, where his engine and physicality would be appreciated a lot more, and where he can be a locked in starter and get tons of game time and his mistakes won’t be held against him so strongly.
He needs game time, and a regular position to start learning how to make better choices.
Most of our players don’t deserve encouragement, cos they don’t want to improve. They play shit every week even when they’re been paid. If I were Italian, Theo Hernandez wouldn’t have been playing for Milan, cos I’ll make sure I make things difficult for him. He irritates me when ever he plays. What a useless player .

Musah is like a bull out of a gate. No one knows where he is heading. I congratulates Conciecao to pull him out early as he has become a liability with his madness. Milan needs smart players and currently not many in the squad. Too many mistakes with poor passing and it’s no wonder they are sitting a mid-table. A players clean out is required and replaced with players that can run and help defensively. On this season performances AC definitely doesn’t deserve a European competitions place. Forza Milan

But Musah can’t play DM, CM, RB, RW or AM. He’s done terribly at each of those.
It’s time to face the fact that Musah doesn’t have the talent to play at Milan and most likely never will.
Stop trying to force a square peg into a round hole. Sell him back to Spain or MLS.
