Reports: Ibrahimovic in talks with Kirovski over ‘top role’ at Milan – the details

AC Milan are exploring the idea of appointing Jovan Kirovski, according to various reports, and he is a figure that Zlatan Ibrahimovic knows very well.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Ibrahimović’s first move as Senior Advisor to RedBird Capital could be the inclusion of the figure of Kirovski. The former LA Galaxy technical director is the one who brought Zlatan to MLS in 2018 and has a very close relationship with the Swede.

Kirovski has already been to Milan and has had direct contact with the Rossoneri. He could have a role which sees him operate between the youth sector and the first team. The parties will continue to talk about things in the coming weeks to understand if things can move forward.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) confirms the news and adds that Ibrahimovic would entrust the 47-year-old with a ‘top role in the club’s sporting area’. He would like Kirovski alongside him as a reference figure in the sporting area.

The management would thus undergo an initial change, in line with Gerry Cardinale’s requests. Today the role of technical director is entrusted to Geoffrey Moncada, previously chief scout, while the role of sporting director officially belongs to Antonio D’Ottavio.

A possible inclusion of Kirovski would inevitably lead to revising some hierarchies. Kirovski seems to be Ibra’s man, even if there is an ocean between MLS and Serie A. It remains a great challenge for both of them, one that the Swede likes.
