Reports: Inter must sell €25m winger to land Chelsea forward; Milan and Roma linked

By Oliver Fisher -

Inter are looking to offload winger Matteo Politano to fund their move for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, according to reports.

The reliable Gianluca Di Marzio reported last week that Politano has agreed to join the Rossoneri from the Nerazzurri, having found game time hard to come by this season under Antonio Conte.

In addition, La Gazzetta dello Sport claimed earlier today that there is still the possibility of a swap deal between the two Milanese clubs involving Franck Kessie and Politano, however it is currently on stand-by.

Carlo Pellegatti was the first to mention Politano’s €25m valuation and the potential for a swap deal involving Kessie.

The same outlet (via Football Italia) are reporting Olivier Giroud has agreed personal terms with Inter on a deal until the end of next season, with Chelsea happy to sell for €5m plus bonuses.

However, in order for Inter to balance their books they must first sell Politano, with Fiorentina and Napoli having also shown interest in the Fiorentina man.

Now, it is claimed that Roma are in the lead for his signature having pressed to sign him after learning Nicolo Zaniolo is out for the rest of the season at least with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
