Reports: JP Morgan confirm they will finance new Super League which could start in August

The European Super League that was announced last night could begin as early as August, according to the latest reports.

An official statement on the club’s website has confirmed that Milan along with Arsenal, Atlético de Madrid, Chelsea FC, FC Barcelona, Inter, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur have all joined the ‘Super League’ as Founding Clubs.

The idea is that there will be 20 participating clubs with 15 ‘Founding Clubs’ and a qualifying mechanism for a further five teams to qualify annually based on achievements in the prior season. There will be two groups of 10, and founding clubs will get €3.5bn just for signing up.

After the press release that confirms the birth of the Super League, new details are arriving about the league arrive minute by minute. According to what is being reported by Sky Italia (via MilanNews), confirmations have arrived that the competition could start in August 2021.

According to reports from the Reuters news agency, financial giant JP Morgan – under the hands of CEO Jamie Dimon – have chosen to actively participate in this new competition and will finance it.
