A future in England could be a possibility for Alexis Saelemaekers as an offer has arrived from the newly-promoted Leicester City, a report claims.
According to Gianluigi Longari of Sportitalia (via MilanNews), Leicester have expressed interest in signing Saelemaekers and they have even gone so far as to submit a first offer for him.
At the moment there is no agreement yet but negotiations are underway. The Belgian spent last season on loan at Bologna, playing 32 games with four goals and three assists to his name after some early injury difficulties.
There was some surprise that the Rossoblu did not exercise their option to make the loan permanent but it was put down to the change of coach given Thiago Motta left, and so Saelemaekers returned to Milanello.
He is training with his team-mates under the orders of Paulo Fonseca but in the eyes of the management the former Anderlecht man remains on the list of those who can leave.
Thus, Geoffrey Moncada and co. will listen to the offers that will arrive, naturally favouring those that would see the winger leave on a permanent basis rather than another loan.
Meanwhile, Nicolo Schira is reporting that Leicester and West Ham United have shown interest in Saelemaekers, who is ‘not in Milan’s plans and can leave for €12-15m.
