Reports: Milan agree personal terms with Taremi – Mendes at work with Porto

AC Milan have agreed personal terms with Porto forward Mehdi Taremi and are now working on a deal with the club, according to reports.

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that Taremi has an agreement in principle with Milan over a four-year contract that would therefore run until June 2027.

Talks are now ‘concretely ongoing’ with FC Porto in order to find the right deal for the Iranian striker, with an official offer expected soon and more news to follow in due course.

Meanwhile, Claudio Raimondi has reported to SportMediaset (via MilanNews) that Milan have indeed agreed terms with Taremi, who is the Rossoneri’s first choice target for the attack.

They say a three-year contract worth €3m net per year is ready, which is a pay rise compared to what he gets at Porto (€1.8m). However, there is still no agreement with the Portuguese club who are asking for €25m.

The Milan management are willing to offer €20m maximum, while Jorge Mendes – who is the striker’s agent and also an intermediary in the operation – is working to try find a meeting point.

  1. I think anything over 20m is excessive. He’s a great striker but given his contract and age he’s not my number one choice. It looks as if roma have gonna all in on Morata and now’s the time if this fails to go all in on scamacca. Get a young striker who is awesome with his feet, tall and strong.

  2. I think this can be a good deal, if the price is right (under 20m). He can score directly and is a solid striker. As well as experienced which he will bring to our team. Maybe Giroud play one more year and this guy will then take his place as an experienced striker. Since there not many strikers in the market it will give us til next summer (or winter) to find our next younger no 1 striker. Just my thoughts 😀

    1. A player like him doesn’t get put at CF if he cannot score a goal over an entire season. CDK is not worth risking our success over, if he can show that he can score as a sub or from mid/wing ok.

Also especially for our system the CF needs to be a pillar, not an engine. A physical, yet still hard working, presence.

  3. Then Rebic must be sold. If we use Giroud, Taremi and Origi who should be given less time than last year. Or even if Colombo stays Origi should be fourth options.

Rebic must go now. And Messias. Right winger must be than Pulisic and Saelemaekers should be rotation with Luka. There is no room for Rebic and De Ketelaere can go on loan, Milan don’t need ACM in new kind of formation. After Bennacer injury he can play on ACM.

  4. I prefer a younger player than Mehdi Taremi, he is not able to solve the problem in attack and score more goals than Olivier Giroud. Milan management must do more to improve or modernize this side. this is my point of view

    1. Any opinion striker who is younger than Baby Shark, faster than Usain Bolt, stronger than Hulk, a super player we’re looking for budget under 20m and has experience in UCL?

  5. Taremi is a panic buy and a mistake, not needed we already have Giroud who’s age is also on the wrong side of his career. Use Colombo, and/or invest in a younger player by paying 18-20 million euros now and pay the rest in instalment…please stay away from Taremi.

  6. Leave out Scamacca and go all the way for Taremi. Forza Milan. Join AC Milan Global Fan Base on +233248637248. Just send a message

  7. Taremi is vastly overrated and overpriced..
Yes he can score goals in the portagese league, but the Italian leauge is much tougher especially defensively wise …We have a great striker who maybe at 37 years of age but he has the technique and ability to score goals against any team in the world,,,yes for now a back up striker, but not yet a replacement for Olivier Giroud…Why the panic …We have bought the right players to help get the best of Giroud …pulisic ,Loftus cheek etc …We will definitely challenge for honours this season ..

  8. This guy is a modern striker and can do the main job for a couple of years as FIRST choice forward. He’ll be the starter ahead of Giroud. His goal scoring is not even his main strength. He runs and press and can drift wide and come back inside the pitch to link up play. Leao will love playing off his shoulder.

There are not many good strikers available in the market, and the pool get smaller when it comes to what we need from a striker physically. The only downside to Taremi’s signing is that we have to forget about Chukwueze .

      1. Yeah next year. We need him or a player like him this year. Danjuma does not convince me.

That being said, paying anything over 15-20m for Taremi is also madness. He’s almost 31 and he has one year remaining in his contract.

Even though he has monstrous stats for the past three years, he’s worth 15m, maybe 20m including bonuses tops. And the same is true of Chukwueze. He’s younger but doesn’t have great stats like Taremi.

I’d say sign the one whose club agree to a maximum of 20m.

  10. We have too many people playing games here. Tweenie is still better and doesn’t play same wing with Chukwu. Giroud is not fast but still score goals so y can’t Terimi score then. Get a functioning midfield and a fast wingers then all is solve. Even inzaghi wasn’t really but technique really help a lot and fast wingers helped
