Reports: Milan and Man Utd battling French duo for midfielder with €120m clause

By Isak Möller -

Although AC Milan’s transfer strategy has shifted, they remain interested in prospects for the future. In fact, one of the players they are reportedly keeping tabs on is Florentino Luis, a 20-year-old Benfica midfielder.

As recently reported by Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo, the Rossoneri are keen on bringing in the defensive midfielder, ready to present an offer of an 18-month loan with an option to buy.

However, as the report continues, the competition for the player is fierce. The likes of Man Utd and league rivals Roma are also keeping tabs on Florentino, who has a €120m release clause in his contract.

According to the Portuguese newspaper Record (via GetFootballNewsFrance.com), Nice and Rennes are also attempting to sign the midfielder. The two have offered to take the player on a six-month loan with an option to buy.

Furthermore, they add that Milan have offered an 18-month loan with an option to buy at €50m. It remains to be seen where Florentino will play once the transfer window has closed, although it’s certain that he has attracted interest.
