Reports: Milan could re-sign Chelsea midfielder after rejecting €35m option – Inter also keen

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in bringing Tiemoue Bakayoko back to the club this summer to bolster the midfield, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes that Milan have reignited their interest in signing the Frenchman, who already played for the club in 2018-19 season, during which he collected 42 appearances and even scored a goal against Inter. To buy him permanently at the end of that season would have taken €35m, a figure Milan didn’t have after missing out on the top four again.

Bakayoko has remained very attached to the club would gladly return to Milanello, plus he has only one year left on his contract with Chelsea and therefore the London club will not be able to ask for a high amount. A loan, however, seems difficult because he would have to renew with Chelsea.

According to TMW meanwhile, it seems that Inter are also keen on Bakayoko and have asked for information regarding his situation, just as Milan have.

  1. What about Tonali? I’d rather invest 20M in Kamara than Bakayoko. Tonali and Kamara would be the ideal back ups to Kessie and Bennacer and Kamara can also play CB

  2. I can only hope this news of Giroud, Bakayoko and their likes are not true. If yes then Milan and Maldini are becoming clueless.
