Reports: Milan beat Juventus and Inter to highly-rated Pescara defender

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have completed another signing for the youth sector, with Emanuele Troiano set to join the club from Pescara according to a report.

The likes of Milos Kerkez, Dariusz Stalmach, Alex Jimenez, Alexander Simmelhack, Jan-Carlo Simic and others have arrived from abroad to bolster the youth ranks in recent years to help build a new core, and the management are not stopping there.

It was confirmed late last year that Vincenzo Vergine had taken the role vacated by Angelo Carbone’s departure as the Head of the Youth Sector. It is a role that he has held for 13 years at Fiorentina, from 1 July 2006 to 31 December 2019, and then for the last two years at Roma.

His plans should certainly excite fans, with an U23 team believed to be among them, and in the background he is also working on reinforcements to boost the talent pool available to the academy.

According to what is being reported by Calciomercato.com, Milan have secured the signing of promising Pescara defender Emanuele Troiano in view of the summer, a 14-year-old who is believed to have a very bright future.

Il Pescara also report that Milan have won the race, and they carry a bit of insight on a defender who seemingly has a very high ceiling.

“Insiders say that talent like this hasn’t been seen in Pescara’s youth sector since the time of Marco Verratti. Even if the role is different and therefore no comparisons can be made.

“But, unlike what happened with the Owl from Manoppello, the Delfino will not have the opportunity to see him in the first team, because in the summer he will move to Serie A following in the footsteps of the likes of Diego Ripanis, who moved to Juve, Lorenzo Romani, who moved to Fiorentina, Lorenzo Peschetola, who was sold to Inter, and many others.

“The new jewel is called Emanuele Troiano, he was born in 2010 and is therefore 14 years old, and although he has just signed up to the Delfino with a two-year deal in the summer he will almost certainly move to Milan.

“The negotiation has entered the final stages, Juventus, Inter and other top clubs had also moved on the promising player – a central defender – but the Rossoneri club seems to have definitively put its finger on the ball and overtaken the competition, securing a player who experts currently consider one of the best Italian defenders born in 2010, if not even the absolute best of his year.”
