Reports: Milan, Liverpool and Barcelona among those keen on €35m midfielder – the player’s preference

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are one of the teams interested in signing Lille midfielder Renato Sanches, but there is big competition to overcome.

According to what is being reported by Calciomercato.it, Renato Sanches can move on this summer if a team comes along and offers €35m. The report mentions that Milan are interested in landing the Portugal international and stand out as the Italian candidate to sign him.

However, Paolo Maldini will have to overcome large international competition if he is to sign the former Benfica starlet. The report cites French newspaper L’Equipe in claiming that Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are all keen on him.

The player himself has a preference: Sanches wants to try a new experience in Spain and join Barca, but given their financial problems at the moment it seems like it could be a long shot. Despite some physical problems, Renato had 1 goal and 4 assists in 29 total appearances last season.

  1. Extremely high work rate. Not sure he fits the Barca style. Would be an immediate impact player for the Rossoneri!!

    1. LOL. We aren’t spending 35M on ANY player I’m afraid. All this talk is just bullshit to sell papers. We have zero $ to spend. Embarrassing.

      1. That’s because Juventus go all in or bust, like Barcelona and Real Madrid. Why do you think these are the only clubs that are still in the Super League project? Because it’s the only thing that can save them. Milan are resticted by UEFA for a few years now. The owners aren’t allowed to put in extra money. We’ve already been banned from European football and if we go against the financial fair play rules it will happen again.
Inter Milan is already on a final life line. Barcelona can’t even give Messi a new contract. Juventus will follow soon.
Only PSG and Man City are allowed to cheat by UEFA, but for the latter it will end soon as well. PSG have the ‘best’ strategy with their owner close in the highest ranks of UEFA, but I hope they’ll never win the CL.
Milan is on the way to get financially healthy again, which is the best thing they can do. It may cost us top transfers, but in the long run it’ll pay off.

  2. I am one of the people interested in a date with the actress Jennifer Lawrence, but there is big competition to overcome.

I think my chances are about as good as Milan’s chances of signing Renato Sanches.
