AC Milan are evaluating Archie Brown as Theo Hernandez’s successor, per multiple reports, but they are facing heavy competition from Turkey for his signature.
Following the departure of Theo Hernandez, which was confirmed last night, Milan now need to sign a left-back. Not that many names have been linked with the club for that role, truth be told, but Gent’s Brown seems to be the most concrete candidate.

However, while the 23-year-old has a reasonable price tag and salary, the road to his signature is not clear-cut for Milan. Indeed, there is some competition that the Rossoneri will have to fight off, at least based on the latest reports.
Milan and Fenerbahce go head-to-head
Last night, Matteo Moretto stated that Milan were ‘accelerating’ their pursuit of Brown, holding new contacts with his entourage and Gent. He also said that an agreement was close between the clubs, but the situation has seemingly changed a little.

Gianluca Di Marzio then went on Sky Italia and said that Fenerbahce had beaten Milan to the punch, reaching an agreement with Gent. Sacha Tavolieri echoed what the journalist said as Fenerbahce and Gent have reached an agreement at €8-9m, per his sources.
However, Milan remain in the race as Igli Tare has held talks with Brown, who naturally would like to join the San Siro side. The Rossoneri need to put an offer on the table, first and foremost, otherwise the left-back will shortly complete the move to Turkey.

I had high hopes when we hired Tare. We acted quickly on the appointment of Allegri and did a good deal for Ricci – a very reasonable fee and acted really fast. However, now the same old BS is resurfacing. We got stuck on ridiculous Jashari stalemate, we are missing on other targets, and we are unable to offload anyone. I don’t blame Tare, as this issue is probably driven by Foolani. We will not build a strong team if we act as we did in the last few seasons.
The stalemate for Jashari is right, he isn’t worth 40m, are you insane? Nobody pays 40m for a player from the Jupiler. You can piss and moan all you want but that’s ridiculous. You must be crazy, our UEFA Fair Play stuff only just expires and now you want to send the club back into trouble, I bet you don’t even know what’s going on at the club but here you sit and piss and moan.
Thank god someone uses their brain in here.
That UEFA agreement is so convenient to the management. If they can’t keep a steady budget despite raising ticket prices every year and benefitting from years of UCL qualifications and growing revenues from sponsorships, maybe these guys are not so good in finance.
Let’s say they offer 35M for Jashari, with a 5 year contract. The impact on the budget this year would be 35/5=7M. Bruges wants 40M. That’s 40/5=8M. You think Milan would go in debt and get evicted from UEFA for 1M difference? That’s probably way less than what redbird and elliott charge the club every year in « management fees ».
Obviously Jashari is seen as an instant starter and a future great and you tell me they are struggling over a few millions? Once again it’s a complete mess and Tare probably understands now why it’s a nightmare to manage a club ran by Wall Street bankers.
One year out of CL and their finances crumbled. They were forced to sell one of the prized assests in order to comply. That’s how stable and well managed this club is financially.
Finances haven’t crumbled at all. They are sitting on a lot of money – they just don’t want to use any of their own money. Hence having to self finance the market…
Spot on. You gotta love the delusion of the Cardinale Cucks who think an extra 2 million will destroy the books. Also, if you don’t want to pay that, then move the f on. Why are you wasting time?
Cardinale has zero to do with any of this, or have you not been paying attention. Elliott is in control. Gerry is on the sidelines.
First it is not what I wrote, and no stalemate is never the right choice. I wrote that our management does not now how to run mercato. The price for Jashari is 35 mil fixed base + 5 mil in bonuses. Either pay it or move on, waiting for Brugge the lower the demands is ridiculous we have seen in with CDK, Fofana – we waited, waited and in the end we payed the requested price + we got the player after preseason. I have never seen Jashari play, I have no idea whether he is worth 40 mil or not, but that is his price – pay up or move on.
“Thank you from the heart to my teammates, to every coach that believed in me, and in particular to Paolo Maldini, for his closeness, vision and leadership.”
This is what Theo said….
Cardinal Sin by Cardinale to fire an icon not only for the club but for World Football. If a match were to be for Earth 11 vs other planets 11…Maldini would walk in. Milky Way Galaxy 11 vs Other Galaxy 11…Maldini would walk in.
