Reports: Milan told they can sign Wigan star for just under €2m due to clause

AC Milan have discovered that they can sign Wigan Athletic defender Antonee Robinson for a very reasonable fee, a report claims.

Robinson was close to signing for the Rossoneri in January. He even travelled to Milano on deadline day morning to complete a dream move, undergoing both his medical and physical checks before heading to the club’s Casa Milan headquarters.

However, rumours began to emerge suggesting the move had hit the rocks due to a heart problem detected, and Wigan then released a statement on their official website confirming that Robinson would be staying.

There have been suggestions that Milan could re-ignite their interest in the 22-year-old since they are in need of a new deputy to Theo Hernandez, and it seems they would not have to pay as much as last summer.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Robinson could leave Wigan for just €3million due to a clause in his contract which has been triggered following Wigan’s relegation.

Not only that, but the Telegraph are reporting that it is even lower (just £1.5m or €1.67m), though Leicester and West Ham have been linked among other teams.
