Reports: Milan watching on with interest as Arsenal and Newcastle battle for Lyon star

By Oliver Fisher -

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that offers have arrived for Lucas Paqueta, and AC Milan have an active interest in the situation.

Paqueta arrived at Milan from Flamengo during the winter transfer window of the 2018-19 season and despite starting well he quickly found playing time hard to come by. He was then sold to Lyon, where he has proven to be a hit and could be the next big name to be sold by the club if the correct offer arrives.

Speaking to the media at Lyon’s preseason retreat, Aulas confirmed that Paquetá is attracting some bids: “It’s true, we have received proposals for Paqueta. There are some players who feel they are a complete part of the project, while there are others who see it differently. Economically, we have the goal of following our ideas and our goals and also the coach has given us an opinion. Then there is what the player wants.”

MilanNews writes that Milan are interested in the situation, given that they are entitled to 15% of the proceeds of any possible sale as per the terms of the agreement negotiated at the time of his departure.

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com reports that it is Arsenal and Newcastle who are interested in Paqueta, who wants to leave Lyon.
