Reports: Newcastle and Napoli enter Asllani race – why Milan might have the advantage

AC Milan are interested in signing Kristjan Asllani from Empoli but they face competition both domestically and abroad, according to reports.

According to what is being reports by PianetaEmpoli (via MilanNews), both Milan sides are after the young midfielder Asllani, but Napoli have also have entered the race to sign him as they are preparing for a revolution of sorts in midfield.

The news has recently begun to circulate and sources closer to Napoli have confirmed that Asllani is a profile that is being discussed by the management, and he also has the endorsement of their head coach Luciano Spalletti.

Meanwhile, Alfredo Pedulla reports that both AC Milan and Inter want to sign the 20-year-old. The Nerazzurri would like to sign him immediately, while the Rossoneri would leave him for another season at Empoli, exactly as their president Corsi would like which could give Milan the edge.

Asllani himself would like to stay in Italy, but Newcastle have entered the race and are asking for a meeting that will almost certainly be held next week.
