Reports: Optimism filters from Milan as Tonali ‘no longer feels pain’ from injury

By Isak Möller -

Sandro Tonali was forced to leave the pitch early during AC Milan’s friendly against Vicenza last night and the fans have been worried since. However, optimism has now filtered from the Rossoneri HQ.

The midfielder is one of the most important players for Stefano Pioli and losing him for a longer period of time would be a huge blow. Especially given that Milan are yet to bring in a midfielder to replace Franck Kessie.

According to Antonio Vitiello, there is a fair bit of optimism with regards to Tonali’s condition and the player himself is calm. The same can be said about Junior Messias, who also had to leave the pitch with an injury (his ankle).

Carlo Pellegatti, the Milan pundit, spoke about Tonali’s injury during an Instagram live (via @musagete10) earlier today and he also confirmed that there is optimism. Most likely, we are not talking about a long absence, therefore.

“Good news for Tonali. He’s a little better, he no longer feels the pain he had yesterday.
Let’s hope it’s just an elongation that even could make him available vs. Udinese,” he stated.
