Reports: Why Romagnoli was subbed off just 26 minutes into Milan vs. Inter

By Isak Möller -

Alessio Romagnoli was forced to leave the pitch after just 26 minutes during tonight’s derby between AC Milan and Inter in the Coppa Italia. The latest reports have now arrived on his condition.

The captain had started the game very well with one crucial header to deny Edin Dzeko an open goal at the far post. However, in that situation, he sustained a muscle injury to his adductor and was forced to leave the pitch.

This was reported by MilanNews and Daniele Longo, stating that the extent of the injury will be further understood in the coming hours. In his place, Pierre Kalulu came on and at the time of writing (half-time), the Frenchman has done well thus far.

Once there is more news on the matter, we will make sure to update you on it. For now, though, Milan will have to focus on the remainder of the derby clash.
