Reports: Exchange deal idea back on as Milan and Roma intensify talks – the situation

There are a number of reports claiming that Tammy Abraham could be on his way to AC Milan from AS Roma in an exchange deal involving Alexis Saelemaekers.

Milan have been linked with a move from Abraham over the past month or so when it became clear he is no longer a part of Daniele De Rossi’s plans at Roma, and the idea of a swap deal quickly followed that.

Things went quiet over the past few days, but according to Fabrizio Romano the talks are back on. He states that Milan and Roma will be in touch again in the next hours to understand if they can agree on deal for Abraham.

The journalist adds that Saelemaekers could be included in the deal but there is ‘no agreement in place yet’ and ‘more talks needed’ to try and find some kind of meeting point.

MilanNews report that it is Roma have requested information once again on the possibility of signing the winger, who risks being left out of the Champions League squad list at present.

From there, the idea of an operation involving Abraham came about, who is no longer in West Ham’s sights as it seemed in recent days. The eventual arrival of the Englishman could lead to Jovic’s exclusion from the Champions League list.

Calciomercato.com meanwhile state that Roma and Milan have intensified contacts to understand the feasibility of the operation. A conference call between Giorgio Furlani and Ghisolfi is scheduled for the next few hours to understand the economic factors at play.

Abraham strongly wants Milan while Saelemaekers is waiting for news and would also be happy to join Roma, knowing that at the moment he risks getting few minutes.

    1. Honestly if the management needs to be sensible about the financial aspect, the tactical and technical aspect of the team and club, instead of Alexis, who is a very intelligent player, able to play at least in 4 to 5 positions, and who does not have a high salary, Chukuzewe should be the one to be sacrificed for the Tammy trade, he is a flop, a one trick pony, and will not have an impact in the team, and has a high salary, we could exchange him for Abraham, and in the long term we will be rewarded, honestly we paid too much for him, and if he was a good player, last season it would have been hard for us to get him, instead we were the only club that was serious about him .

      1. Agreed 100% … Chuks is one – dimensional and he has played a few good games but mainly disappears from matches.
Salemaekers like you said can play multiple roles, is physically stronger and has more determination.

  1. bad deal for us imo. better to send Jovic out and get a ST…

“Fonseca’s” Emerson is already showing true colors, we can’t just listen to the coach, our ST can’t be Abraham. Kayode would have made more sense, but they went with coaches wishes… The lack of Italians is already making us push for dumb transfers like selling Bennacer and/or Saelemakers.

Retegui and Ommoridion were better options but we did nothing… Other than Gimenez and Gyokeres I don’t see much reason to sign anyone else, but Ibra is protecting Cardinale’s wallet like Cerberus apparently…

Rovella and Ricci at this point are mandatory purchases to complete the midfield. our double-pivots need help. Musah is too raw, Fofana and Bennacer are only viable options with lack of replacements. Reijnders should just focus CAM role and RLC and Liberalli I guess will be the depth. Although would have also preferred to get rid of the Englishman… indecisiveness is costing us a lot this year

if we can get that double deal, let Jovic be I guess and hope we don’t suffer in goals and Morata is fit for the rest of the season.

    1. Jfc Italian players aren’t any better than any others. Retegui and Ricci… listen to yourself. Neither of us these are upgrades.

        1. we can’t register anyone otherwise. we need Italians… we have used up 17 spots.

Imagine if we went for Kayode and not Emerson, Retegui instead of swapping Saelemakers for Abraham… like Rovella, Ricci double-pivot need to be brought since they don’t force us to ruin/downgrade our squad. both are young and have high ceiling… They are on the level of Kone and Musah, so don’t understand the hate… similar to how people were talking about Locatelli and now he shines under Motta

  2. Please please please not permanent, we don’t know if he’ll settle and can’t have another Origi situation.

Loan fee with option to buy. Give us a year to see if he’s any good, given in 12 months we might even have a new coach who doesn’t want half the players in the squad
