Reports: Wigan star to fly home as ‘row’ over deal terms sees dream move to Milan collapse

By Oliver Fisher -

The deal between AC Milan and Wigan Athletic for full-back Antonee Robinson is now off, according to multiple sources.

Widespread reports emerged on Thursday evening claiming that the Rossoneri had agreed a deal for Robinson, with Ricardo Rodriguez having sealed his Milan exit in order to move to PSV Eindhoven.

The USA international actually arrived in Milano earlier today and has spent most of the afternoon doing his medical examinations and fitness tests.

Just as it was claimed that he is ready to sign the contract at the club’s Casa Milan headquarters, MilanNews.it – among other sources – produced the bombshell that there is in fact no total agreement between the two clubs, with an issue regarding the payment method.

With the deadline in Italy at 20:00 (19:00 GMT), there appears not to be enough time to resolve the differences. According to journalist Alan Nixon, the move is now off and Robinson is set to fly back to England due to a ‘row’ over terms of the deal.

Daniele Longo also confirms that there are ‘negative signals’ regarding the deal, with Diego Laxalt now returning to Milan.
