Reports: Winger could leave after two-and-a-half years as Milan look at two replacements

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan winger Samu Castillejo is facing an uncertain future at the club because the management are considering signing a new winger, reports claim.

The 26-year-old joined Milan from Villarreal back in 2018 and has amassed 91 appearances including 10 goals and 11 assists. He has not managed to establish himself as a consistent starter though during his time at the San Siro thus far.

As MilanLive reports, Castillejo’s time at Milan Milan may end after this season as the management are thinking about getting a new right winger. The Spaniard is held in high regard for his effort and his work rate, but an upgrade in the role is needed with Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara following Florian Thauvin.

The Malaga-born wide man will try and convince the management that he deserves a role, but he will have no problem finding a new team should he have to leave.

Meanwhile, Tuttosport (via MilanNews) are reporting that Milan have enquired about Douglas Costa. If the operation were to go through, Castillejo could leave the Rossoneri and go to Spain.
